JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 28: The Government has completed 161 works under the
ongoing Command Area Development (CAD) projects at Udhampur, Ramban, Kishtwar Pargwal and Rajouri to provide assured
irrigation to the farmers in the targeted areas.
The information was given at a review meeting of Field Officers of the
Command Area Development Jammu looking after ongoing CAD Projects of District
Udhampur, Ramban, Kishtwar Pargwal and Rajouri.
The meeting which continued for two days was held under the
Chairmanship of Director, Command Area Development Jammu Rohit Khajuria.
On the onset of the meeting Chief Agriculture Officer, CAD Jammu briefed
the chair regarding the Physical & Financial targets/achievements in
respect of Udhampur, Ramban and Kishtwar CAD Projects within the allocated
resources. An area of 243 hectares in respect of Udhampur, 55 hectares in
respect of Ramban and 60 hectares in respect of Kishtwar projects has been
brought under assured irrigation through construction of O F D works (i.e field
channels). With the completion 109 works 139 farmers were benefited in
Udhampur, 17 in Ramban and 107 in Kishtwar
The meeting was further informed that an area of 80 hectares in
Pargwal and 75 hectares in Rajouri has been brought under assured
irrigation through construction of field channels.
“With
completion of total 52 works 84 farmers of Pargwal and 103 Rajouri CAD Projects have been
benefitted” the meeting was told.
The Officers were instructed to submit the Inspection report of the
works executed duly authenticated by the prominent persons of the village after
every field visit.
The Director Command Area Development Jammu laid stressed on maintaining
quality of works and directed the Officers of respective projects to keep a
close liaison with farming community who are the ultimate beneficiary of the
scheme.
