Srinagar, Sep 6: Hundreds of students today staged a protest in south Kashmir district of Pulwama against the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
The protesting students of Degree College Tral assembled in the college campus, demanding justice for Muslims persecuted by Myanmar military and mobs in Rakhine this morning.
Shouting ‘pro-Rohingya Muslims’ slogans, the students later took out a protest march to main Tral town.
The students also urged the international community, including Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and United Nations (UN), to break their silence over the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims and ensure their safety.
The students later dispersed peacefully and returned to their classes. UNI
