Will take appropriate action against soldiers dishonouring militants' bodies: Army

Srinagar, Sep 16: Taking cognisance of a video that shows soldiers dishonouring the bodies of two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants killed in an encounter in the city outskirts, the Army today said that appropriate action will be taken against the troopers.
        LeT chief Abu Ismail and his associate Abu Qasim, both residents of Pakistan, were killed in a brief encounter with security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday last.
      “Army has taken cognizance of the video and appropriate action will be taken against the soldiers,” Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI.
      The comment by the Army comes after a video went viral on social media sites, including Facebook and Whatsapp, which shows troopers walking over the bodies of the militants and dragging them from the encounter site.
      The video evoked sharp reaction from different social, religious and separatist organisations, demanding action against the guilty soldiers. UNI
