Sep 15: BJP national president Amit Shah, who arrived here on a three-day
visit, was accorded a warm welcome at the Birsa Munda Airport here today by
Chief Minister Raghubar Das and state BJP chief Laxman Giluwa. Soon after
arriving, Mr Shah garlanded the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at the Birsa
Chowk here and later inaugurated that ‘Swachtha Pakhwara’ and said Prime
Minister Narendra Modi has shown a new light to the country in the area of
cleanliness and the same has now started showing results. After inaugurating
the event he also administered the oath of cleanliness among the people who
were present on the spot. Mr Shah said the campaign of the Prime Minister has
now reached every home. He said that this movement needed to be made a habit
where all children imbibe the habit of maintaining cleanliness. Mr Shah said
various state governments are celebrating Swachtha Pakhwara from September 15
to October 2 and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on September
17 which would be celebrated by the party across the nation as Seva Diwas.
Addressing the programme Chief Minister Raghubar Das said the state government
was working to ensure the success of Swach Bharat Abhiyaan in the state and
said that the government was committed to make Jharkhand ODF in 2018. Earlier
upon his arrival at the airport he was accorded the traditional Jharkhand
welcome. The party workers also formed a human chain on the roads to welcome
the national president. During the three day visit to the state Mr Shah would
be participating in more than a dozen party meetings and programmes. UNI
