Kolkata,
Sep 15: Parambrata Chatterjee of Bollywood film Kahaani fame brought
Feluda in a web series on the most famous creation by maestro Satyajit Ray.
Titled Feluda, the web series traced the journey of Prodosh Mittir, Ray's
self-styled detective, through numerous mysteries. Alongside Parambrata
Chatterjee is actor Riddhi Sen in the role of Topshe, the narrator of the
Feluda stories. Bengali, global or otherwise, thirsts for adventure. And what
better dose of life laced in thrill than our very own homespun Feluda created
by Satyajit Ray; and when he slips into your mobile app in a whole new avatar,
the results are viral. This is exactly what happened when the first episode of
Sheyal Debota Rohosyo was released seven days back on addatimes.com. It reached
out to 20 million people and further strengthened addatimes' numero uno
position. Within months of its launch addatimes.com has emerged as the leading
web address showcasing original Bengali entertainment reaching 70 million
people globally. "I consider it to be a matter of great honour, that we've
got the opportunity of recreating the immortal adventures of Feluda. This
venture is a tribute in our way to Satyajit Ray, the maestro, who has inspired
the sense of modern cinema and literature in most of us. The press conference
is a moment where we wish to share this tremendous joy," said Parambrata
Chatterjee, who besides playing the lead role is also directing the series.
"We have received fabulous response on the site. People have logged in
from across the globe including Middle East, Russia, the UK and America. People
want original content and not remake of Bollywood serials in Bengali soaps. We
are giving something new and it is being appreciated. It makes us grateful.
Addatimes has reached to the global Bengali and it has catapulted to new
heights with Feluda" said Rajiv Mehra, Director of Addatimes Media Pvt
Ltd. The global digital rights for all Feluda stories have been bought by Kandy
Productions from Bangladesh. Addatimes holds the global internet rights, except
Bangladesh. The series is coproduced by Kandy Productions and Roadshow Films,
owned by Parambrata Chatterjee and Aritra Sen. Shahriar Shakil, Managing
Director Kandy Productions, said: "We are elated by this association. To
bring Feluda in a new form and format to its heartland is a great honour. We
are happy to be associated with Addatimes. Parambrata has done a fabulous job
with the stories and he has set new benchmarks." The first season will
showcase 4 Feluda stories Sheyal Debota Rohosyo, Ghurghutiya ghotona, Gangtok e
gondogol and Golokdham Rohosyo. UNI
