Sep 29: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly committed
suicide with his service weapon in a camp at Pampore, about 12 km from here in
south Kashmir, official sources said on Friday. They said panic gripped Grid
station, Pampore, when firing shots were heard in the camp. The CRPF personnel
present in the camp rushed towards the area and found a CRPF jawan in a pool of
blood. The jawan, who had committed the suicide with his service weapon, died
on the spot, they said, adding that it was not immediately clear why the, jawan
identified as A K Das, took this extreme step. Police has registered a case and
started investigation, they said. Suicides by security forces posted in the
Kashmir valley have not stopped even after authorities have introduced Yoga and
Art of Living. UNI
