New
Delhi, Sept 26: Haryana Police today raided a Greater Kailash II residence
of Honeypreet Insan in South Delhi, in a bid to arrest her, who was accused of
inciting violence in Sirsa, after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim
Singh was convicted in two rape cases on August 25. Panchkula police with
arrest warrant raided Honeypreet's GK residence, however, police failed to
locate her as she was missing from her apartment. The police team has began
raiding several locations in New Delhi. The move comes a day after Honeypreet,
whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, moved the Delhi High Court, seeking
anticipatory transit bail. A court in Panchkula had yesterday issued arrest
warrants against Honeypreet, Aditya Insan and Pawan Insan. They were booked by
Haryana Police on charges of sedition, inciting violence and for their
involvement in the conspiracy to help the Dera chief escape after his
conviction by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in August. Haryana
Police had sounded an international alert against the trio. Honeypreet, in her
mid-30s, has been the closest aide of Ram Rahim since 2009. Police is on her
trail for nearly a month and raids have been conducted in Nepal, Rajasthan,
Bihar and Haryana. The woman, who used to claim that she was Ram Rahim's
"adopted daughter", starred as the main female lead in five films he
directed, produced and acted in, in three years. Her former husband Vishwas
Gupta had also accused her and Ram Rahim of having illicit relations and said
that their father-daughter relationship was a sham to fool his followers. Ram
Rahim has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of
over Rs 30 lakh in two rape cases of 1999. His conviction led to violence in
Panchkula and Sirsa in Haryana, leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured.
Isolated incidents of violence were also reported from Delhi and several other
places in Punjab. UNI
