ANANTNAG SEPTEMBER 04 - District Development Commissioner, Anantnag,
Mr. Mohammad Younis Malik today chaired a meeting to finalise the work plan for
development of model village Bakerwal Chek.
A plan of Rs 2 crore has been finalised for
the current fiscal 2017-18. A plan of Rs 10 crore for three years starting from
2016-17 has already been approved by the government. Under the schema, 80
percent of the funding is made by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and 20 percent
has to be apportioned by the departments intending to develop infrastructure in
the model village.
As per the finalised plan, the R&B
Department has to develop roads in the model village while as the Power
Development Department has to augment the power infrastructure in the village
by replacing 25 KV transformers with 63 KV transformers. The PHE department
will also augment the capacity of Bakerwal Chek water supply scheme.
As decided in the meeting, the Chief
Education Officer said that 2 model schools shall be development in the
village.
RDD has to take effective measures for making
the village Open Defecation Free, besides, also have to construct community
lavatories.
Meanwhile, to provide livelihood to the
people, Animal Husbandry Department will establish 25 diary units and 25
poultry farms, besides, Sheep Husbandry Department will also establish 10
units.
Agriculture Department is planning to promote
apiculturing, vermi-composting, water harvesting, field channels and
cultivation of peas on 5 hectares.
Horticulture Department was directed to
identify land which can be developed for orchards.
Social Welfare Department will also get
constructed two kitchens for Anganwadi centres and the Sports Department was
entrusted to identify a patch of land for development of playground.
