KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 18: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir conducted an
extensive tour of remote Jumagund area in the district and reviewed the
progress of various developmental works and addressed issues of public concern.
Jamagund, a picturesque village comprising seven habitations with
population of 2000 souls, is located near the LoC.
District and Sectoral officers accompanied the DDC during his visit.
During the visit, people informed the DDC regarding various issues being
confronted by them. The DDC gave them a patient hearing and assured them that
all of their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner.
The DDC on spot resolved many issues which include construction of four
additional classrooms in Upper Primary School, fencing of High School, approach
path of High School, accommodation for non local teachers, construction of four
foot bridges, Aadhaar enrollment, laying of water supply pipes worth Rs. 10
lakh, clearance of liabilities on account of IHHL, etc. Besides, he also reviewed
status of foodgrains stocking and directed AD FCS&CA to complete the
process within next 10 days.
He asked PDD authorities not to compromise with quality and appropriateness
of technology in the overdrive to achieve electrification of the unelectrified
village.
He further instructed the Executive Engineer R&B Kupwara
to prepare a DPR for construction of inner link roads for providing
connectivity in the area.
