Jammu, April 12 :  Pakistani troops Friday lobbed mortars and opened fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, drawing retaliation from the Indian Army. 

"At about 0830 hours, Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing with small arms along the LoC in Swajian sector of Poonch," PRO defence said. 

The Indian Army is effectively retaliating, he said.

Pakistani troops last Friday resorted to firing and shelling along the LoC in forward area in Digwar sector, in which 2 persons suffered injuries. 

On Tuesday last, the Indian Army destroyed seven Pakistani military posts across the Line of Control in retaliation to the continued ceasefire violations by them.

With Pakistan using heavy weaponry and 120 mm mortar bombs targeting civilian areas along the LoC in Poonch, people have been advised to stay indoors, officials said.                       [Agencies]

Jammu, Mar 5 :   Pakistani troops Tuesday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control by targeting forward posts and villages in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said. 

The latest ceasefire violation took place in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district around 1130 hours, prompting strong and effective retaliation by the Indian Army, he said.

The spokesman said Pakistani army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing of small arms. 

However, there was no immediate report of any casualty on the Indian side, he said, adding the cross-border shelling was continuing when last reports were received. 

There has been a spurt in ceasefire violation by Pakistan after India's air strike at Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camp in Balakot on February 26 in a preemptive action following the February 14 suicide bombing in Pulwama in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed. 

Four persons, including three members of a family, were killed and several others injured in over 60 ceasefire violations along the LoC, especially in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch last week.           [Agencies]

New Delhi, Feb 26 :  Combat jets of the Indian Air Force bombed terror camps at multiple locations across the Line of Control on the Pakistani side in a pre-dawn strike on Tuesday, 12 days after the Pakistan-based terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammed carried, out the Pulwama attack in Kashmir, government sources said. 

They said the Mirage 2000 fighter jets pounded JeM terror camps in Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakoti in the well-planned strike, destroying the camps.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the operation. 

Hours later, Prime Minister Modi chaired a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security which was attended by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Sitharaman.

The sources said significant damage has been inflicted on the ground on the Pakistani side.

A source indicated that the operation was carried out between 3:50 AM and 4:05 AM.

In Islamabad, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called an "emergency meeting" at the Foreign Office for consultations, sources said.

Qureshi will meet Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan after the meeting in which he will discuss the security situation with high-level officials, they said.



In an early morning tweet, Major General Asif Ghafoor, director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said Indian aircrafts intruded from the Muzaffarabad sector. 

"Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage," Ghafoor said in a tweet. 

"Indian Air Force violated Line of Control Pakistan. Pakistan Air Force immediately scrambled. Indian aircraft gone back," he claimed. 

India had put all IAF bases in the western sector on maximum alert after the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

After the Pulwama attack, Modi announced that the armed forces have been given full freedom to respond to the strike.

Hours after the strike, the Indian Army tweeted a Hindi poem which says that "if you are docile and polite before the enemy, he may consider you as a coward, the way Kauravas treated Pandavas".

The poem by Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' was tweeted by Additional Director General, Public Information on its official handle. 

Peace overtures, the poem says, are possible only when you are in a powerful position and capable to win.                      [Agencies]

Jammu, Jan 13 :  An Army personnel was injured Sunday when Pakistani troops violated ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The soldier, manning a forward post, was hit by a bullet apparently from a Pakistani sniper in Keri sector and was hospitalised, they said, adding the Indian troops retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides continued for some time.

There has been a spurt in ceasefire violations along the LoC in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch since the beginning of this year, resulting in the killing of two army personnel and injuries to several others.

The army major and a soldier were killed when an improvised explosive device went off in Naushera sector of Rajouri on Friday, the day when a porter was also killed in Pakistani firing in nearby Sunderbani sector.

The year 2018 recorded 2,936 ceasefire violations by Pakistan the highest in the past 15 years with an average of eight cases daily in which 61 people were killed and over 250 injured.             PTI

Jammu, Sep 13: A Pakistani national was apprehended along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district after he crossed into India, a defence spokesman said Thursday.

"The Army observed some movement in the Ranghar Nallah along the LoC and apprehended the Pakistani national in the Poonch Sector," he said.

He was identified as Umeer Yousaf (23), son of Mohd Yousaf Narwal and a resident of Hajira tehsil in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the spokesman said.

He was roaming along the Ranghar Nala area and crossed the LoC on Wednesday night, he said.

The man has been handed over to police. Two ID cards, a packet of tobacco and Rs 50 in Pakistani currency were seized from him, the spokesman said. (PTI)

Srinagar, Sep 11: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized heroin worth Rs 10 crore, which was suspected to have been smuggled in from Pakistan, from a residential area here, official said Tuesday.

On the basis of specific intelligence, the DRI officers raided the residential area in Srinagar in the wee hours of Sunday and recovered two packets of high quality heroin, weighing about 2 kg, an official statement said.

The contraband was found concealed behind a rice sack in the kitchen of the house, the DRI said in the statement.

"In order to nab the kingpin of the smuggling gang, a manhunt has been launched. DRI has conducted searches in villages located adjacent to the LoC. Further investigation is under progress," it said.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the seized heroin was sourced from across the border in Kashmir, the statement said. (PTI)

Jammu, Sept 4: Army troops foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir and killed an intruder Wednesday, an Army officer said.

A suspicious movement was picked up along the LoC in Rajouri Sector in the early hours.

"One intruder was spotted and was challenged. The intruder opened fire on troops closing in and the Army retaliated effectively," the officer said.

In the exchange of fire, the intruder was killed and his body handed over to local police, he said.

Srinagar, Aug 25: An Army jawan was killed in a mine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

Nihal Gorang was injured in the blast when he was on patrol duty in Keran sector in Kupwara district of north Kashmir late last night, a police official said.

He said Gorang was rushed to a medical facility but succumbed to the injuries. (PTI)

Recommends inclusion of Bauria, Jogi as backward communities
Jammu, Aug 13: State Backward Commission held its meeting today, the Aug. 13, 2018 in its office under the Chairmanship of its Chairman Jeet Lal Gupta. Prof. Virender Gupta and Adv. Onkar Seth also attended the meeting as its members. The Commission received representations from the people residing along the International Border of J&K State demanding that they should provided the benefits those are being availed by the families living along the LoC/LAC. Among others who represented the case of people residing along IB and met the Commission were MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLAs Dr. Krishan Lal, Kuldeep Kumar, Sham Choudhary, Sukhnandan Kumar, Ex-MLA Ashwani Sharma, Ex-VC Rashpal Verma, Adv. Parimoksh Seth and Ajay Sharma.
It was stated in the representations that the International Border remains frequently disturbed because of cross border firing. They have to vacate their houses and are compelled to take shelter in the safer places, suffer heavy causalities, their houses are damaged, they find difficulty to cultivate their lands and studies of their children gets hampered because of the frequent displacement of families. It was also stated that the people living along IB are put to miserable financial and social conditions.
The Chairman assured that Commission would take cognizance of their issue and make positive recommendations to the government about their demands shortly.
The Commission recommended the case of Yogi/Jogi/Nath and Bouria/Boria/Bowaria Communities for their inclusion in the OBC category in view of their social, educational and economic backwardness, the recommendation of the commission are shortly to be submitted to the state government.
The Jogi/Yogi/Nath community was declared as one of the backward classes by the Mandal Commission and they have population of 40,000 to 50,000 in the state. The people of Boria/Bouria/Bowaria community are working as manual labourer in the vegetable/fruits mandies of the state and put up in extremely poor and hygienic conditions. Both these communities were struggling for their inclusion in the Backward classes since 1996, but due to insensitive attitude and slackness on the part of the authorities, their grievances were not addressed. However, the present state backward commission while looking on the concerned files and documents submitted by these communities realized the genuine of their demand and as such recommended their case for inclusion in the backward classes.
Rashpal Verma also put up the case of OBCs before the commission and made request for enhancement in their quota for reservation in the government jobs and  professional education institution as their population as projected by Govt. of India with the feedback from state government authorities, is about 11%.

Drass (JK), Jul 26: The Indian Army is capable of meeting any contingency or challenge along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan or the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, a top commander said today.

He said the modernisation of armed forces was going on in a big way which had improved operational preparedness.

He also described the situation in Kashmir as stable but fragile.

"I can tell you that Indian Army is fully prepared to take on any challenge along the Line of Actual Control and even along the Line of Control," Northern Army Commander Lt General Ranbir Singh told reporters here after paying tributes to the 1999 Kargil conflict heroes.

In the last 19 years, as far as the modernisation of the armed forces is concerned, it is going on in a big way, he said.

"We have been able to identify certain areas where we required additional focus -- whether it in the form of infrastructure development close to the LoC or even on the LAC or improvement of night vision capability, surveillance capability, night fighting capability. There is a substantial improvement that has taken place in so far as ops preparedness of the armed forces is concerned," he said.

Singh downplayed incidents of transgression along the LAC by the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) saying these happened due to differing perception.

"On a large number of occasions, there are reports that the PLA of China has carried out transgressions in various areas along the LAC. But such transgressions have always taken place in areas where we have differing perception of the LAC. We do not have a delineated LAC. Similarly, when we speak to Chinese authorities, they also refer to us having transgressed into their territory on several occasions," he added.

The Army commander said there were well-established working mechanisms in place to resolve issues.

"We have got very well established mechanisms -- whether it is hot-lines between the forward posts or flag meetings which we do or border personnel meetings. At the higher level we have got a working mechanism for consultation and coordination for border affairs. At the highest level we have special representatives of both the countries who discuss issues related to the resolution of boundary dispute and each of these mechanisms is effective," Singh said.

We have been able to use these mechanisms to our advantage and have been able to resolve all, even very very tricky and touchy issues, with tranquillity and have been able to resolve them well to meet the aspirations of the Indian Army and PLA of China, he added.

Lt Gen Singh refused to be drawn into the post-election scenario in Pakistan, where Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party was emerging as the single largest party, saying it should be left to the authorities and people of Pakistan on how they handle the challenges inside their country.

"But with regard to the challenges to Indian Army along the LoC, I want to tell you that Indian army is prepared for any contingency. Any kind of movement, any kind of misadventure which our adversary tries to undertake, they will be given a befitting reply as always. So, be very very sure that the army is fully trained, we are equipped and motivated and always prepared to take on any contingency," he said.

Referring to the post-Kargil war political developments in Pakistan, the army commander said they "did not affect our preparations".

On the situation in Kashmir, he said it was stable but fragile.

"The situation in Kashmir is stable. However, it is fragile. The violence parameters which we have seen in 2018 are relatively better as compared to 2017 and earlier years. The stone-pelting activities are relatively less this year. That shows an understanding and comprehension in the minds of the local youth that it is futile to come out and carry out stone pelting on government agencies and security forces," he said.

They need to understand that it is the dividend of peace that needs to be exploited, he added expressing confidence that things were moving in that direction.

Lt Gen Singh said the situation deteriorates for sometime whenever Pakistan pushes in funds, weapons or militants.

"Some incidents do take place which act as triggers to spoil and vitiate the entire security situation. This essentially happens because of the nefarious designs of our adversary across the LoC. Whenever an impetus in terms of weapons, funds or pushing in Pakistan-trained terrorists is done, then obviously the situation deteriorates for some time but overall today the situation is stable. Security forces are in full control and should be able to handle any of the contingency that arises," he said. (PTI)

Jammu, Jul 24: The body of an unidentified man, suspected to be a Pakistani intruder, was found near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, the police said today.

The body of 30-year-old man was found lying in Nowshera sector's Sair village yesterday, a police officer said.

Some Pakistani currency, a pocket diary and a few cigarettes of Pakistan make were recovered from the deceased, he added.

It is believed that the deceased might have come in contact with live wire while crossing over to this side of the LoC, resulting in his death, the officer said.

The police said the body was laid to rest after completing the legal and medical formalities. (PTI)

Jammu, Jul 17: A soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in a camp near the Line of Control (LoC) here, the police said today.

Rifleman Ranbir Singh (28) was on guard duty at Hamirpur Nawan Military Garrison in Khour area of Akhnoor sector when he shot himself in the forehead yesterday, causing his instant death, a police official said.

The body of the deceased, who hailed from Punjab, was handed over to his unit after completion of medical and legal formalities. (PTI)

Jammu, Jul 14: A soldier was injured when he was reportedly shot by a Pakistani sniper from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, officials said today.

The incident took place last evening when the soldier was manning a forward post in Akhnoor sector's Khour area, they said.

He suffered a bullet injury in his upper body area. The soldier was shifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur after initial treatment at the local military hospital, officials said.

He was reportedly injured in firing by a Paksitani sniper, they said.

This is the second such incident in a week on the LoC. On July 7, an army jawan was injured reportedly in Pakistani sniper firing in Rajouri district's Nowshera sector.

As many as 52 people, including 24 security personnel, were killed and scores of others, mostly civilians, injured this year in more than 1,250 ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC and International Border.  (PTI)

Jammu, Jun 30: Starting the process for construction of 'Seema Bhawans' (border shelters) along the Line of Control (LoC), authorities in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri convened separate meetings to remove the bottlenecks in the process of land acquisition.

The 'Seema Bhawans' will provide accommodation to the residents of border villages who are forced to flee their homes during shelling across the LoC by Pakistan.

In a meeting yesterday, District Development Commissioner of Poonch Mohammad Aijaz Asad directed officers to complete the process for identification of land for 'Seema Bhawans', an official spokesperson said.

Asad asked the officers to identify land for the shelters at safe locations, the spokesperson added.

Currently, the border residents are accommodated in government buildings like educational institutions when they are displaced during shelling by Pakistan Rangers.

Construction of bunkers was also discussed during the meeting.

Officials in the meeting said most locations for the construction of underground bunkers had been handed over to the Roads and Buildings Department and the process for making entries of these identified sites in the revenue record had been initiated.

Asad directed the concerned revenue officials to complete the process of handing over the remaining bunker locations for construction, the spokesman said.

The community bunkers are being constructed in safe zones near colleges, schools, hospitals and police posts, which are easily accessible during ceasefire violations, he said.

In the neighbouring Rajouri district, Additional District Development Commissioner A S Chib reviewed the status of finalisation of land for 'Seema Bhawans' and the tendering process by the Public Works Department (PWD) for construction of bunkers, a spokesperson said.

The proposals for construction of the border shelters submitted by the sub-divisional administration of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Manjakote were also reviewed in the meeting, he said.

The spokesperson added that the superintending engineer of the PWD, Rajouri, had been designated the nodal officer for execution of the work on 'Seema Bhawans'.

The district administration of Rajouri had initiated construction of 102 individual bunkers and 10 community bunkers in Nowshera as a pilot project with convergence of resources.

All the individual bunkers were handed over to families in March while the community bunkers are being completed.

The individual bunkers can accommodate 10-15 people and the community bunkers have a capacity of 40-50 people.

More than 14,000 individual and community bunkers are being constructed along the LoC and the International Border (IB) in the Jammu region following the approval from the Union Home Ministry.

Jammu, Jun 16: An Army jawan was today killed as Pakistani troopers targeted a patrol party along LoC in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. 
The latest instance of ceasefire violation comes after four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, including an assistant commandant-rank officer, were killed in firing by Pakistani Rangers along the International Border in Samba district on June 13. 
"Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of mortars on routine Indian Army patrol, 700 metres inside Indian territory in Naushera sector along the Line of Control (LoC) this morning," a senior Army officer told. 
In the exchange of fire, Rifleman Bikas Gurung was grievously injured and succumbed to injuries. The 21-year-old soldier belonged to Khunka Khuki village of Manipur, and is survived by his mother. 
The unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan, especially on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, is highly unethical and unprofessional, the Army officer said, adding that the Indian troops exercised maximum restraint in spite of grave provocation. 
He added that the Army, however, has been forced to respond to the unprovoked firing and would give a befitting response at the time and place of its own choosing. 
The Army also cancelled the exchange of sweets between the Pakistani Army and the Indian side on the occasion of Eid. 
Eleven BSF troops have so far been killed in cross-border firing incidents along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir this year, the highest casualty figure for the border force in a year in the past five years, the latest data revealed. (PTI)

Srinagar, Jun 7: Two soldiers were today injured in a militant attack on an Army patrol near the Line of Control in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.
"Terrorists opened fire on a link patrol ahead of the fence at the Line of Control in Keran sector," a Defence Spokesman said here
He said two soldiers were injured in the firing, which was retaliated to by Army personnel
The operation was in progress when last reports came in, he added
The attack comes on a day when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived here on a two-day visit to the state to review the security situation
He is scheduled to visit border district of Kupwara tomorrow morning. (PTI)

Govt. contemplating to raise an exclusive Police battalion of border youth, construct Border Bhawans, create other facilities for their welfare: CM
JAMMU, MAY 26: Various deputations from the border areas of Jammu province met the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today. They brought into her notice the difficulties being faced by them due to continued cross-border shelling and the losses suffered by them.
The Chief Minister, it may be mentioned, had visited the border areas of Jammu yesterday during an extensive tour to assess the situation arising out of the cross-border shelling of past few days.
The deputations which came from Chakroi Farm, Satrian and other adjoining villages made several demands with the Chief Minister for their relocation, rehabilitation and compensation of the losses.
Mehbooba Mufti informed the deputations that her Government is contemplating to raise an exclusive battalion of JK Police comprising youth from border areas. She said the Government would undertake an exercise to construct Border Bhawans in urban areas for these people where they can take shelter in extreme situations and which would be equipped with facilities of schooling, healthcare and other amenities. She also assured them to look into their demand of putting them at par with the residents of LoC areas.
Another deputation of Dudi Gujjars also met the Chief Minister and demanded institutionalising dairy sector in the State by marking it as an industry and incentivising its operations.
The Chief Minister assured the deputation that their suggestions will be looked into and appropriate steps are taken.

Jio adds 10 more sites post section 133 CrPc proceedings by DM
Airtel to install one COWsite for old city area
          POONCH, MAY 25: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mohammad Aijaz Asad today directed the telecom service providers to immediately restore and improve the mobile phone network connectivity in the district to avoid further inconvenience to the local subscribers.   
The DC was speaking at a meeting held with the representatives of various telecommunication companies operating in the district to discuss plan for improvement in the network. Present in the meeting were ADDC Abdul Hamid, ACR Bashir Ahmed Lone and District Informatic Officer Narinder Singh besides representatives of telecom companies including BSNL, JIO, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea.
Pertinently, District Magistrate had initiated criminal proceedings against different Telecom operators on 4th of April, 2018 for poor services in the district. The meeting convened today was meant to examine the action taken post initiation of criminal proceedings against TSPs.
The DC stressed on the need on developing dependable  communication network in the district for reducing reaction time of the administration in reaching out to the people in case of any eventuality. He impressed that given the frequent cease fire violations along LOC, the intermittent and unsteady network availability coupled with poor voice quality and coverage impedes relief and rescue operations thereby hampering administrative reach out to the public. He asked them to make best use of existing infrastructure apart from creating additional infrastructure in the district to provide quality telecommunication services to the public.
It was given out in the meeting that JIO has added 10 sites in last 15 days in the district including 4 in Mandi, 2 in Poonch, 2 in Surankote and 2 in Mendhar. Meanwhile 15 more sites will be commissioned by JIO shortly. It was informed that company had completed work of installing towers at 80 sites out of 130. It was further informed that two tower of Idea have been erected in last 10 days i.e. 1 in Mendhar and 1 in Surankote whereas as requests for permission for 19 sites including 10 in Poonch, 7 in Mandi and 2 in Mendhar is pending with army authorities.
Representative from Airtel has put up proposal to DC for launching new site namely COW( Cart on Wheels) site. He also informed that Airtel has launched new site behind Police Line Poonch and work on one site at Bust Stand is in progress. These twin sites shall be made functional within 10 days. Vodaphone has also launched new sites at Ari and Phagla.
The BSNL representative also informed the chair that major reason for poor network is due to non-completion of the maintenance process of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC). He assured that within one month there will be visible improvement in the network as maintenance work is in progress.
The DDC set deadline to various companies for improving the network. He said in case of non-compliance stringent action shall be initiated against the network provider.

JAMMU, MAY 25: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today visited the border areas of R S Pura, Samba and other places of Jammu province which have been severely hit by the cross border shelling of past few days. She interacted with the affected people and took an on the spot appraisal of their difficulties and demands.
Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and Disaster Management, Javed Mustafa Mir accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
The Chief Minister visited R S Pura and met the affected people presently put up at the local ITI, Chakroi Farm and Satarian.
Interacting with the people, the Chief Minister said she is deepy distressed and anguished due to the continued flare up on the borders and sought an immediate end to it to save the people of border areas from more losses of life, property and peace. She appealed the leadership of Pakistan to respect the sentiment of Ramadhan and respond positively to the Ramadhan ceasefire announced by the Centre recently. This, she said, has led people of the State to heave a sigh of relief and now the need is to extend this gesture to borders as well for which she asked Pakistan to respond positively. She reminded people that complete peace prevailed along the borders in the State for more than a decade after the ceasfire at borders reached at in 2003.
Respinding to the demands of the local people, Mehbooba Mufti announced that her Government would examine the demand of raising a battalion of JK Police comprising of youth exclusively from border areas. She also assured them that her Government would look into their demand of bringing people living in areas along International Border (IB) at par with those of LoC areas in terms of facilities, perks or any incentives.
The Chief Minister also assured the people that steps would be taken to construct Border Bhawans in urban areas for the people of border areas where they can stay during the difficult times. She said her Governmet has already got the loss to livestock included in the compensation package by the Centre.
Responding to other demands, Mehbooba Mufti said the local hospital at R S Pura would be inducted with more facilities in terms of equipments and manpower and also the local Veterinary unit would  be provided more facilities.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Choudhary and MLA, Dr. Gagan Bhagat were present on the occasion.
Later, the Chief Minister visited Samba and interacted with the people from border areas at Thandi Khui and Chichi Mata Mandir.
Here also, the people of border areas raised similar demands and the Chief Minister assured to look into them. She also assured to look into the issues of late settlement of compensation cases and early settlement of other compensation cases.
Minister for Health & Medical Education, Dr. Devinder Manyal was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister also gave away Rs. One lakh each to the kin of those killed in the cross border shelling in these areas. This is over and above the ex gratia extended to them by the Jammu Divisional administration already.
Chief Secretary, B B Vyas; Director General of Police, Dr. S P Vaid; Principal Secretary, Home, R K Goyal; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal; Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Hemant Sharma; IGP Jammu zone, SDS Jamwal and senior officers of Divisional and district administrations also accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
