JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 18 - Minister
for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today visited Arnia,
Powal, Jora Farm, Allah and other border villages to enquire about the condition
of the injured in the recent cross border firing.
Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Welfare and Development
of Scheduled Castes, Bhushan Lal Dogra and MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma also
accompanied the Minister during the visit.
The Minister interacted with the villagers and informed them that
ambulances and medical staff has been kept on standby to deal with any
exigency. He directed the officers to station a bullet proof bunker in Arnia
Police Station to facilitate shifting of victims to the hospital during
shelling as well.
The Minister informed that the government has setup temporary shelters
at various locations and advised the people to move to these safe locations at
the time of contingency.
He further informed that ambulances have been stationed at Sai, Arnia
and Baspur while as Animal Husbandry Department will provide free medicines to
people whose livestock is injured in the firing.
The Minister visited the affected villages and expressed grief over the
casualties of cease fire violations while hoping for speedy recovery of the
injured. He asked the authorities to remain vigilant and move the people of
these areas to the community bunkers for ensuring their safety.
