BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 19: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Sajjad Hussain today visited village Kulhama to inaugurate nation-wide sanitation drive 'Swachhta Hi Seva'.
The DDC was accompanied by the officers of District Administration including Rural Development Department, Municipality, Revenue and media persons.
Headed by Deputy Chief Education Officer later a rally was also taken out which was joined by local population and school children.
The DDC traversed through the village roads and collected garbage and polythene .He also visited the Wullar banks and collected garbage and polythene from the river.
On the occasion the DDC said that the aim of visiting the remote village is to carry forward the nation-wide sanitation campaign which started on September 15 to every village of the district. He said District administration is covering all the 21villages situated on the banks of Wullar Lake. He urged upon the local to be the part of this campaign and keep households and surroundings clean and free from polythene.
The DDC while addressing the students asked them to carry message of keeping surrounding clean to their homes.
He directed the concerned Block Developmental Officer to achieve the target of constructing house hold latrines within the given target date.
