Muharram arrangements reviewed at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 07:  Arrangement for ensuing Muharram, were reviewed at a joint meeting of concerned officers and the representatives of various Shia Associations here today. The meeting was chaired by ADC Bandipora.

Various issues with regard to repair of roads/inner links, installation of street lights, supply of ration, Atta, k.oil, LPG, drinking water, electricity etc were discussed threadbare.

Moreover, the arrangements of security, first aid, sanitation, traffic regulation etc were also reviewed in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that 2500 quantal firewood will be provided to Imambaras while as ISM will establish medical camps regularly in Shia dominated areas. PHE department will provide tanker service to augment the water supply in the area.

The ADC on the occasion directed the concerned officers to ensure all possible arrangements before start of Moharram.

He said that the essential services should be kept available in Shia dominated areas so that the mourners will not face inconvenience. The ADC issued special directions for cleanliness around Imambaras and other identified spots where huge congregations are expected. He also directed for installation of street lights in these areas.

Earlier, the representatives during the meeting raised various issues and put forth their demands before the ADC. The ADC assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into on priority.
