ADC chairs disaster preparedness meeting

          KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 5: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam today chaired a meeting to discuss the Disaster Response Management Plan and the disaster management preparedness in the district.

          ADC said that Disaster Response Management Plan has been formulated under which a District Level Committee at district level and Tehsil Level Committees have been constituted to promptly respond to the relief and rescue  operations during any natural disaster.

Besides, a permanent cell has been established at the district level which shall house a store where all the materials required for relief, rescue and rehabilitation shall be dumped.

      The Tehsildars were also directed to submit an itinerary of items required for immediate rescue and relief operations.

          It was given out that 350 persons have volunteered for helping the administration in case of any eventuality. 

          As part of the plan, proper training of the volunteers and other staff, adequate stocking and awareness shall be the part project formulated for disaster management. 

     The meeting was attended by all Tehsildars, AEES of R&B, PDD and I&FC, AD Forest Protection Force, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Department,  DySP Hqr and other officers.
