| 'There is a teacher behind every successful person' |
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 05 – Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and
Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said teachers play the most important
role in nation building by providing quality education to the students on whose
shoulders lies the onus of raising a strong and developed society.
Terming ‘Teaching’ as the best vocation in the World, the Minister said there is a teacher
behind every successful person and it is the only profession which gives rise
to all other professions. A person’s life is incomplete without a
teacher who not only teaches him textbook education but also inculcates
leadership qualities, self confidence, enthusiasm, positivity and courage to
deal with any difficult situation in life, he added.
Paying rich tributes to India's second President, Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan, on his birth anniversary, the Minister said there is no better
service to the nation than spreading knowledge and enlightening someone’s life
with the light of education.
The Minister was addressing a gathering of students, teachers and
parents during Teachers’ Day celebration organized by Mount Litera Zee School, Tarore in
collaboration with Global Peace Organization. An investiture ceremony, seminar
on “Save Earth, Save Life” and plantation drive was also
organized to mark the birthday celebration of Dr. Radhakrishnan.

Ruveda Salam, Joint Director, Information Jammu Manisha Sarin, Joint Controller, Legal
Metrology V S Sambyal, Deputy Controller, Legal Metrology Manoj Prabhakar,
Regional School Director Zee Learn Ltd. Amita Chaturvedi, Managing Director of
the school, P B Kapoor, Chairperson A K Kapoor, Director Ritesh Kapoor, Rahul
Kapoor and Trustee, Global-Peace Organization Sheikh Altaf Hussain were also
present on the occasion.
Listing out the initiatives taken by the government to provide quality
education in schools, the Minister said the standard of teaching and
infrastructural facilities are being improved in schools under Sarva Shiksha
Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha
Abhiyan.
The tiny tots also presented a skit on the importance of tress and put
across the message of saving tress very effectively.
Later, the Minister felicitated the students of newly formed Student
Council of the school and wished them luck for achieving heights of success in
their lives. The dignitaries also planted a sapling in the school premises to
give a message of planting more and more tress to save environment.
In the
day, the Minister also inspected the ongoing construction works of Office of
Controller, Legal Metrology Department at Narwal and directed the offices to
ensure that the work gets completed within the fixed deadline.
Controller, Legal Metrology Vipra Bhal was also present on the occasion.
