SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 05: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir,
Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a high level meeting to review the pace of work
on prestigious developmental projects in Kashmir including Leh and Kargil
districts.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, VC
LAWDA, Chief Engineers of R&B, EM&RE, Systems & Operations &
Beacon, Directors from NHAI & NHPC, Officers of Forests & Wild life,
Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner, Traffic advisor,
Representatives from RAMKY and other concerned officials were present in the
meeting, whereas Deputy Commissioners of valley districts including Kargil
& Leh participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The meeting was informed that the Boulevard road widening project
involves 122 kanals of state land and 79 kanals of private land including 17
structures and 20 shops.
On the occasion, Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to
clear all pending land acquisition cases in a time bound manner and disburse
the compensation among the affected land and property owners at the earliest so
that work on the project is started at an earliest.
He directed the JKTDC, Police, Tourism, LAWDA, SMC & Wild Life
Departments to handover land under them which comes under the project to the
R&B department within 5 days.
Khan also directed the Engineers of PDD and PHE to take measures for shifting
of electric poles and water supply pipes coming under the project immediately.
He also constituted monitoring committee headed by
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and comprising officers from R&B, PDD, PHE,
LAWDA and SMC. The monitoring Committee shall submit the complete report to the
Divisional Commissioner’s office within 10 days so that the work can be started immediately on this prestigious project.
The meeting was also informed about the land acquisition process and
subsequent compensation to land owners for 61 km long Semi Ring road project.
The road starts from Gallandar Pampore to Manigam Ganderbal via Budgam,
Srinagar, Baramulla and Bandipora.
Div Com directed the concerned Deputy Commissioners to frame the draft
of awards immediately so that the compensation is disbursed to the owners at
the earliest.
About the 77 km long NH-444 road project, which starts from Sanzipora
Pulwama to Qazigund, it was said that a total of 2000 kanals of land will come
under this project sponsored under PMDP. It was said that in a first phase, DPR
has been made upto 25 kilometers and poles were erected for demarcation.
Div Com directed Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to complete the revenue
papers of first phasewithin 25 days and then submit to Divisional
Commissioner’s office for approval and compensation to be disbursed to the owners at
earliest.
While reviewing other PMDP projects like AIIMS (which occupies 1772
kanals of land), IIM (which occupies 800 kanals of land), Srinagar-Leh 220 KV
transmission line, AMRUT scheme, Rehabilitation of Dal & Nigeen lake
dwellers, Transit Camp in Kashmir Division, Neemu Padum Darcha (Kargil),
Up-gradation of Srinagar –Uri LOC road, Double Lanning of Srinagar-Leh road (SSG road) via Kargil
and Uri-Kaman Post (LOC) and Kishtwar-Simthan Pass-Anantnag road (KSA), Div Com
directed concerned Deputy Commissioners and concerned officers to speed up the
execution of works so that these prestigious projects are completed within the stipulated
time frame.
He also directed the concerned Deputy Commissioners to speed up their
efforts so that all bottlenecks on National Highway project and BRO roads are
removed so that the work is carried out in a smooth manner.
