KARGIL SEPTEMBER 05- Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Barkat Ali Lone Nizami convened a meeting of
officers here at DC office today reviewed all the necessary arrangements put in
for the conduct of congregations and mourning processions in the district
during the month of Muharram.
The meeting discussed threadbare arrangements made for ensuring
uninterrupted power supply, water supply, ration availability, deployment of
doctors and ambulances, medical facilities, traffic management, PAS system, and
sanitation of roads from where processions are going to be held on 9th Muharram
and on the day of Ashura. Besides, security, traffic management and other necessary arrangements
were also discussed.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner discussed extensively the
arrangements required to be put in place and directed the concerned departments
to make all arrangements well in time.
The ADC also issued on spot directions for deployment of sweepers to
ensure the cleanliness of the places of congregations as well as the routes
where the mourning processions are held. He also instructed the officers of
FCS&CA to ensure that people do not face any difficulty in procuring their
food grains. The Power Department was also directed to provide uninterrupted
power facility in the rural areas during Muharram time. Moreover the department
was also directed to ensure the deployment of patrolling parties during the
night of Ashura.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed for better coordination
among the religious organizations and departments so that all possible service
delivery can be ensured in the district during the sacred month of Muharram
especially on the day of Ashurah.
