KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 27: As part
of the 2-week long Swachta He Sewa, the Additional District Development
Commissioner, Khwaja Nazir Ahmad on Wednesday launched a drive to
clean the adjoining Nallahs of Vishow stream.
The main purpose of the drive was to nip the pollution at the point
source level so that water bodies are prevented from anthropogenic pollution.
The sanitation drive was launched on the Amnoo canal from Kulgam Adda up to the
District Hospital.
On the occasion, the ADDC said that Kulgam is bestowed with a bounty of
water sources and stressed on need to work in tandem with one another to
preserve these water bodies. He said that in the drive to keep environment neat
and clean, every individual has to play his/her part and in this expedition, we
have to learn the cult of volunteerism.
The ADDC was accompanied by Exen Irrigation, EO MC Kulgam besides the
staff of Irrigation Department and Municipality.
