75% of approved CAPEX budget of Rs 205 cr
expended
ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 28: Minister
for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Bukhari today chaired a review meeting of
district officers to review the progress of different projects and facilities
available to the people of the Anantnag assembly segment.
The Minister
was accompanied by Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development
Corporation (JKTDC) Mir Rafi and Vice Chairman Horticulture Development Board,
Abdul Salam Reshi.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC),
Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik through a power point presentation gave the
itinerary of activities and schemes available to the people of Anantnag
assembly segment. He informed the Minister that against an approved Capital
expenditure (CAPEX) budget of Rs 205 crores, Rs 74 crores is the availability,
out of which 75% expenditure has been made so far.
Giving the
details, the DDC said that out of the total population of 1.75 lacs, 1.07 lacs
constitute the urban population of the Anantnag assembly segment. Highlighting
the socio-economic indicators, it was given that 76 beds and 24 doctors per
lakh population are available in the district against the State ratio of 139
beds and 70 doctors per lac population.
While taking stock of the drinking water
facilities available to the people, Executive Engineer Public Health
Engineering (PHE) department informed that all the 18 rural habitations of the
segment are provided potable drinking water supply from 10 water supply
schemes. Meanwhile, the Minister directed the Superintending Engineers PHE to
get the water testing of all these water supply schemes.
The Minister
was informed that Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Rambirpora-Kehribal which is coming
up at an estimated cost of Rs. 21.71 crores will cater to the population of
Anantnag town besides the adjoining villages.
The Minister,
however, sought the details of the functional water supply schemes, schemes
which have got redundant, schemes which need further augmentation and the
schemes which are going on so that holistic strategy is devised for ensuring
water availability keeping the population growth into consideration.
The Minister
was informed that under Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms
Programme (RAPDRP), Rs. 31.54 crores has been sanctioned to the segment under
which 6 feeders shall come up. In addition, for the Anantnag town, work has
been allotted to M/S Rays for Rs 15.44 crores under which re-conductoring of 21
kms of 33 KV lines shall be done, besides lying of 18.28 kms of new 11 KV
lines.
The Minister directed the Executive Engineer
Irrigation to get a survey conducted regarding the irrigated, horticulture land
being fed by the irrigation kulls. A joint inspection by Revenue and Irrigation
& Flood Control (I&FC) was also called for which shall recommend the
measures to be taken for smooth drainage system.
The Chief Agriculture Officer informed the
chair that a vegetable cluster at Bungedar has been approved where organic
cultivation shall be done on 820 kanals at an approved cost of Rs. 1.28 crores in three years.
While taking stock of the Social Welfare
Department, the District Social Welfare Officer apprised the Minister that
during the current year, assistance to 6788 beneficiaries have benefited under
Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) while as 1371 benefitted under
National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).
Detailing about the implementation status of
Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), the Minister
was apprised that projects worth Rs 33 crores for septage management, Rs. 12.07
crores for storm water drainage and Rs 19.95 crores for multi-level parking has
been approved for which the work is going on in full swing.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers to
work diligently and expected them to ensure that all coming schemes and
projects are conceived keeping the future requirements of the people into
consideration.
The Minister
called upon the officers to develop the cult of work culture, accountability
and governance so that people at large are provided the relief. He said that
providing the best governance and delivery of public services is the foremost
motive of the government. He expected the officers to work efficiently and in
tandem with one another so as to make tangible impact at the grass-root level.
