KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 28: District Development Commissioner Kulgam,
Talat Parvez Rohella, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of various
ongoing developmental works including those taken up by PMGSY, R&B, JKPCC,
Police Housing Corporation, J&K Housing Board and RDD in the district.
Reviewing works taken up by PMGSY, which
include 13 works including 6 upgradation works and 7 new works, the concerned
Executive Engineer was directed to submit the indent of works taken up in the
district in order that land acquisition process can be initiated.
While taking stock of Police Housing Corporation,
the concerned Executive Engineer was directed to coordinate with Executive
Engineer R&B to get the inspection of GNM Kulgam so that the apprehensions
raised by Chief Medical Officer are allayed.
The meeting was informed that works on Sopat,
Frisal and Srandoo PHCs have been completed and that the centres be handed over
to the Health Department soon.
The concerned Executive Engineer was also
directed to submit the inspection report of PHC Nihama so that further
corrective measures are taken to make the PHC functional at an earliest.
The DDC directed the ACR to take appropriate
action with regard to Sub Centres held up on account of disputes so that work
can be started on these projects.
Being informed about funding issues hampering
projects of the Education Department in the district, the DDC directed the
Chief Planning Officer to take up the matter with the concerned MLAs to
prioritise the projects so that they can be completed both physically and
financially.
The meeting was informed that macdamization
of Bonigam-Chowgam road is going on in full swing and that blacktopping and
patching of Chowgam-Lamar road will be taken up soon.
It was also given out that construction work
of 44 hutments at Waltengoo has been tendered out and that work will be started
in due course. It was also said that necessary instructions have been issued to
the concerned BDO to start work on Akhal-Khulshan road.
The DDC called for ensuring adherence to
project timelines and compliance to approved standards of quality.
