Directs for early completion of pending works
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER-28: Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly
Kavinder Gupta today chaired a meeting of officers of Jammu Municipal
Corporation and reviewed the performance of the civic body.
The Speaker assessed the progress of various development works being
executed by JMC in Gandhi Nagar constituency and took status report from the
officers regarding the directions issued from time to time for taking-up the
new works and the works in hand.
He directed the officials for close monitoring of development projects
to ensure timeline completion accruing the benefits to the public at the
earliest.
The Speaker directed the officers of JMC to strictly adhere to the
quality norms and ensure proper utilization of resources for optimum outcome.
Taking strong note of delay in completion of works, the Speaker asked
the senior functionaries of JMC to prepare a list of officials and contractors
who are responsible for pendency of work on irrelevant pretext and directed for
action against them under norms.
For beautification of the constituency, the Speaker directed the
officials to submit cost estimation for installation of entrance gate at
various locations. He also directed the concerned start the work for
installation of streetlights and entrance gate to develop Apsara Road Market as
Heritage Bazaar.
The Speaker directed the health officers for regular fogging and also
appealed to the general public to take all the precautionary measures to
prevent threat of Dengue. He asked the concerned officials to spread awareness
among the masses regarding the precautions against the fatal disease.
The Speaker also reviewed the ward wise progress report and directed for
preparing area specific project proposals for ensuring development of potential
areas.
To ensure prompt service delivery, the Speaker exhorted upon the
officials to reach out to the people and take all the requisite measures for
redressal of their grievances. He asked the officials to submit the requirement
of any additional staff, if needed to carry forward the development work.
The Speaker directed for creation of bio-composed shed at Trikuta Nagar.
He also directed the officials to identify the areas for Rehri zones at
different locations.
The Speaker appreciated the work done by the department in recent times
and asked them to keep up the good work for the betterment of the public at
large.
Various issues including installation of more dust bins, sanitation and
construction of passenger sheds were also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner Administration Rajesh
Sharma, Joint Commissioner Works, Kushal Chand, besides XENs, AEEs & JEEs
of JMC.
