SRINAGAR,
SEPTEMBER 16- Member Parliament Muzaffar Hussain
Beig today inaugurated “10th Open National Taekwondo Championship” at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium here.
More than
1500 athletes from all over the country are participating in the championship,
which has been held for the first time in Kashmir.
Mr Beig was
the Chief Guest of the Occasion and Secretary Sports
Council J&K Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra was Guest of Honour. Vice President TFI Raj Kakati, Joint Secretary Sports Council Nazir
Ahmad, Members of Sports Council, Master Han from Korea, Suresh Parmar from
Gujarat and other dignitaries were also present.
Congratulating
J&K Taekwondo Association and J&K Sports Council for organizing such a
prestigious event, Muzaffar Hussain Beig welcomed the participants from
different states.
He hoped
that all the participating teams will act as brand ambassadors for Jammu and
Kashmir and disseminate the message of the conducive and supportive environment
offered here to them in their respective states and encourage others to visit
J&K.
Appreciating
the arrangements and the entire set up of the event he pledged his support for
all such sporting functions in the future as well.
International Player Referee and Coach Team India Atul Pangotra, who is
also the event manager, said that the support from the State Government has
made the event a grand success. He hoped in future too the State will host more such
National and International Level events.
