'Have brought about sea change in road communication network in just 4
months'
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28: Minister
for Public Works Naeem Akhtar today said that in the last four months alone,
Government has brought in a sea change in infrastructure development with works
going on at record pace in every nook and corner of the state.
The Minister was addressing people during a daylong tour to different
areas of Sonawari constituency on the advice of Chief Minister. A delegation of
people from the area had called on the CM recently and apprised them of various
issues after which she directed the Minister to visit the area. The Minister
was accompanied by MLC Yasir Reshi and other officials.
The Minister visited Tregam, Gundkhalil, Shadipora and other areas where
he inspected the works and interacted with people.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction at various works including road
building and construction of other buildings. The Minister assured the people
that all the demands of people regarding development will be taken care of. He
said that for the first time government has done away with old development
model by virtue of which many areas used to be left out of progress. He said
that now government is uniformly developing every area in every nook and corner
of the state.
The Minister said that it is for everybody to see how much work has been
accomplished in the last four months as the government got a chance to work in
a peaceful atmosphere. He said that public assets have been created at a record
pace during this time and there is brisk construction activity everywhere with
every project given a deadline for completion. The Minister said that the
development will get further boost as new projects under ADB and World Bank are
rolled out soon.
People expressed their happiness at the developmental activities in
their area. He took the Minister and MLC in a procession and facilitated them
at various locations.
