Inspects Jakhani Park, Fruit Preservation and Utilization Extension
Centre
UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 28: Minister of State for Education, Culture,
Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today
reviewed the performance of various departments, here at a meeting of concerned
officers.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Arvind Sharma, Chief Education Officer
J.R. Bhardwaj, Chief Horticulture Officer Brij Vallabh, Assistant Floriculture
Officer Pawan Kumar, Assistant Director Tourism Shaziya Rehman besides
Principals of various colleges.
The Minister took detailed review of educational scenario in the
district, stressed on close monitoring of schools and other institutions. She also
took stock of implementation of schemes under Education, Tourism, Horticulture
and other key sectors.
The Minister also reviewed the status of work of school buildings and
upgrading of educational infrastructure taken up under SSA, RMSA and other
schemes.
She directed the officers to work with full dedication and show
promptness in resolving the grievances of the common masses.
Later, the Minister inspected Jakhani Park and directed for its
renovation and further beautification. He asked for creating more facilities
and extensive landscaping for attracting maximum number of visitors and
tourists to the park.
Priya Sethi also inspected Fruit Preservation and Utilization Extension
Centre (Processing unit) of Horticulture Department.
The CHO
apprised the Minister about various activities undertaken by the department at
the centre. He informed that the centre provides free one month training to the youth in food processing and
preservation of fruits.
