SRINAGAR,
SEPTEMBER 28: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Thursday reviewed
the implementation of the Rs 1500 crore Jhelum & Tawi Flood Recovery
Project (JTFRP).
World Bank Mission, Task Team Leader, Shri Deepak Singh, Administrative
Secretaries of the Departments of Health & Medical Education, Industries
& Commerce, H&UD, PW(R&B), Chief Executive Officer, JTFRP and other
senior officers were present in the meeting.

informed that implementation of the project is on track and DPR preparation and
tendering process across all components of the project is being given focused
attention.
It was informed that works in regard to up-gradation of 49 dewatering
stations of SMC in and around Srinagar city, procurement of high capacity
pumping unit, quick response pumping unit and waste water testing equipment
have been tendered out besides DPRs of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition
(SCADA) System and various drainage projects viz Nadroo, Nowgam-Banpora, Nazz
Colony Pantha Chowk, Doodh Ganga etc are being submitted in October, 2017.
The progress was also reviewed in respect of the projects including Lal
Ded and B&J Hospitals, Composite Market Centre Silk Factory Rajbagh &
Woolen Mills Bemina, development of handicrafts cluster in flood affected
areas, construction of school buildings, procurement of search and rescue
equipment for SDRF, Fire Department etc.
To ensure against delays, Chief Secretary stressed on better
coordination between the Project Management Unit (PMU) and the line
departments. He urged the concerned Administrative Secretaries to monitor the
progress of each component and promptly address any issue hindering the
execution of the project. He stressed upon fast tracking the implementation of
the various components across all sectors in order to achieve the project
objectives within the set timelines.
