Shikara drive, musical event held under 'Swachta hi Seva' in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 28:- To promote “Swach Bharat Abhiyan – Swachta hi Sewa” initiative, the District Administration Ganderbal on Wednesday kick started a Shikara Drive at Manasbal Lake Ganderbal and organized various Cultural Programmes in the district.

After flagging off the Shikara Drive in Manasbal Lake, MLA Kangan, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, ADDC Ganderbal, N.A Baba, ADC Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, and other District Officers took a Shikara ride in Manasbal Lake.

Almost 35 Shikaras participated in this drive and displayed the message of Swachta.

Besides Shikara Ride, cultural programmes depicting 'Swachta hi Sewa' message and culture of Kashmir juxtaposed with the melodious voice of Shafi Sopori.

On the occasion, DDC stressed on keeping the tourist places clean. He urged locals to promote eco-tourism for the sustainable growth of the tourism sector.

DDC said various programmes have been organized by District Administration to boost the sense of sanitation and hygiene among local masses and to create awareness for achieving the success in implementation of 'Swach Bharat Abhiyan – Swachta hi Seva' initiative.
