Shoe seller booked for overcharging

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 16: Acting swiftly on the complaint of consumer, a joint team of officers of FCS& CA and Legal Metrology department today booked a leading shoe & ladies foot wear seller in Gandhi Nagar area.

According to consumer complaint, the said retailer sold a sports shoe of kid for Rs 800 and bill for the same transaction was issued but, later, the consumer found that MRP fixed by the manufacturer inside the shoe was only Rs.495.

          The team booked the retailer under the provision of Legal Metrology provision and a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed and recovered. The team also ensured that excess amount charged from the consumer is refunded.
