KULGAM , SEPTEMBER 13: The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Talat Parvez
today convened a special meeting on Nationwide Sanitation Campaign titled “Swatchhta Hi Sewa“ starting
from 15th of September to 2ndOctober.
Officers from various departments were directed to devise cleanliness targets
to be achieved in the given time period.
The meeting also decided that all the
departments will work in coordination to make this campaign a great success.
DC added that officers and officials who do the exemplary
work will be
rewarded and awarded on Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October
DC Kulgam further said that progress of all
the cleanliness drives initiated by various departments should be communicated
to his office on daily basis and be given wide publicity through print and
electronic media.
With regard to the role of religious and
social organisations it was decided that all the Imams and Khateebs will give
special sermons titled “Safaie Aadha Eeman Hai” on Friday prayers in the mosques.
The meeting also decided that Waqf Board and
care takers of the shrines, temples and Gurduwaras will ensure the cleanliness
of their respective religious places.
Further in the meeting it was decided that
education department will organise rallies, debates, seminars and Nukkad plays
to aware people regarding the importance of cleanliness.
Other departments including Health, PHE,
R&B, Irrigation, Municipality, Social Welfare, ICDS, NDRF, Revenue,
Fisheries and other departments were also directed to clean their office
premises and surroundings, besides areas falling under their jurisdiction.
