DC Ramban discusses modalities for ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign

RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 14:    To chalk out the modalities for ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign, the District Development Commissioner Ramban Tariq Hussain Ganai today chaired a meeting of officers of various departments, construction companies and other stakeholders.

           The   meeting was attended by  ADDC, Ravinder Nath Sadhu, PO, ICDS Ashok Pandita, CPO, Uttam Singh, SDMs, Tehsildars, district and sectoral heads of various departments, representatives of construction companies and others attended the meeting.

 The DDC asked the officers and officials of all departments to actively participate in ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign and assist in its implementation. He directed the municipal committee and rural development department to make suitable arrangements for collecting used polythene and disposal of garbage. 

          It was decided in the meeting that the drive will begin with campaign    “Shramdan” cleanliness and sanitation of offices and its surroundings by the   officers and officials on   September 15 under the theme “Swachaata Hi Seva”.

        The fortnightly programme would witness series of events in educational institutions like Essay Writing, Painting, Debate, and competitions, sports activities, community drives at Panchayat, Block and District levels. 

           During the drive Households, Municipal Workers, NGOs, SHGs, School Childers, Teachers, Business Houses, Community Leaders, Religious leaders would be involved to start a Jan Andalon   that will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti.

          In this respect a day wise action plan was also finalized in which participation and assignments for every department was mentioned.  The meeting also decided that all the departments will work in coordination to make this campaign a great success.
