ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 14: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today
convened a meeting to review the progress on implementation of Pradhan Mantri
Gramin Digital Saksharta Mission (PMGDSM) in the district.
The DDC stressed upon the concerned to create mass awareness among the
people regarding the importance of digitization and e–governance.
He added that at least one member of each family should be trained in
digitization process through the Mission.
Meanwhile, officials of District Informatics Centre Anantnag and
experts of Common Service Centre (CSC) presented a power point presentation
regarding the various dimensions of PMGDSM and its proper implementation.
The meeting was informed that presently there are 150 CSCs functional
in different parts of the district and people especially the rural folk are
getting benefitted from it. It was said that CSCs will provide training to
rural folk in skill development and allied trades.
It was given out that out of 5300 students registered so far around
4500 students have been trained in different trades and 3600 have been awarded
the certificates.
Among others, District Informatics Officer, Chief Education Officer,
ACD, ICDS and BDOs of the various blocks of the district attended the meeting.
