District admin reviews functioning of Education dept at Poonch

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 14: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, today chaired a meeting of senior functionaries of Education Department to review its performance.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Poonch, Abdul Hamid, chief planning officer, chief education officer, district planning and education officer, all Principals, ZEOs of all zones, junior engineers under SSA & others officials of education department.

The main focus of the meeting was to review the status of ongoing construction of school buildings taken up under SSA, RAMSA and resolve bottlenecks hampering the work at some places.

The meeting also discussed steps required to be taken at various levels to revamp over all education scenario in the district. 

In this regard, the DC directed all heads of educational institutions to devise teaching plans and carry out teaching- learning activities in an effective manner to achieve quality education standards. He directed principal DIET to organise   regular necessary trainings for the improvement of teachers’ teaching skills and regularly monitor the working of schools with special focus on academic activities.

The DC also underlined the need for involving all stakeholders including Village Level Education Committees, parents, teachers and officers of revenue department for resolving the issues, if any, for expeditious construction of school buildings. 

He also stressed upon ZEOs to personally    monitor the Mid-day-meals and other issues for further streamlining of this vital sector. 

He said that students must also be prepared to face the impending challenges of today's globalized era.

He stressed upon the importance of regular and effective monitoring and functioning of the schools and directed ZEOs of all zones to take care of punctuality and attendance of their respective education institutions and submit a report on daily basis to the office of ADDC Poonch.
