BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 13: The District Development Commissioner
Bandipora, Sajjad Hussain Ganai today convened a meeting of sectoral and
district level officers here to review the status of ongoing core development
projects in the district.
During the meeting, the DDC sought project wise details from the
concerned executive agencies.
It was said that as many as 30 developmental projects worth Rs. 142 crore are nearing
completion in the district, which are expected to be commissioned during the
current fiscal.
The projects include 100-bed district hospital, 50MVA power grid
station, health centres, college buildings, bridges and road projects.
The DDC refixed the time line for completion of various projects
including bridges at Athwatoo and Paribal, Dak Bungalows at Bandipora, Sumbal
and Dawar.
The meeting was informed that three new projects are being taken up
this year which includes residential quarters at Bandipora.
Reviewing the electrification programme, it was given out that two
unelectrified villages, Simthan upper and Simthan lower have been electrified
while as work is apace to electrify Chandaji and Kudara villages.
Under Education sector, it was informed that 29 school buildings are
being constructed at a cost of Rs 8.98 crore under RMSA and District Sector.
Prioritization of NABARD projects, status of works under local area development plan of
Kishan Ganga Hydro Electric power project (KGHP) were also reviewed in the
meeting.
The DDC exhorted upon the officers and executing agencies to speed up
the pace of work and strictly adhere to new timelines so that their benefits
percolate to the grass root level.
