BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 14:  District Development Commissioner Bandipora today chaired a meeting held here at Manasbal to review the Muharram arrangements put in place in the district, especially in Sumbal sub-division.
MLC Yasir Rashi was also present in the meeting.
Besides issuing various on spot decisions to ensure foolproof arrangements in Sumbal and other parts of Shia dominated areas of the district, the meeting also held threadbare discussion to ensure all required arrangements are put in place so that people do not face any inconveniences during the Muharram days.
          A helpline headed by District Medical Officer, ISM in this regard is constituted which will start functioning from SDM office Sumbal with the numbers 9419008745 and 9858000721.
          MLC Yasir Rashi asked the concerned authorities to install solar lights at all Imambaras before Muharram, besides ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the month.
       Reviewing the medical facilities, the meeting was informed that 20 ambulances with medical and paramedical staff have been designated for Muharram duty. The meeting also decided that critical ambulance of District Hospital Bandipora shall remain stationed at Sumbal on 10th and 12th Muharram.
          It was further revealed that Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department for the month will provide two liters kerosene oil per ration Card. It was also told that firewood will be provided before September 20 to all Imambaras.
    Besides, the PHE department will provide additional water tanker service, and will ensure uninterrupted water supply in the designated area.
      Rural Development Department and Municipal Committee Sumbal will ensure bathroom facilities at each Imambara, besides arranging mobile toilets.
         The meeting was informed that R&B Department has macadamized all procession routes and inner links in Sumbal sub division.

MLC Yasir Rashi exhorted upon the officers to work with coordination so that best possible Services could be provided to the people.
