SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13: Vice President of J&K Academy of
Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) Zafar Iqbal Manhas has condoled the demise
of prominent Kashmiri writer Mohammad Ahsan Ahsan who he described as an old
friend and colleague. Ahsan passed away at SKIMS Soura this morning.
Condoling the demise of Ahsan, Manhas conveyed his heartfelt condolences
to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Secretary, JKAACL Dr Aziz Hajini has paid rich tributes to
Ahsan.
Dr Hajini
was among the hundreds of people including writers, poets and intellectuals,
prominent members of civil society who joined the funeral of Ahsan.
Ahsan remained associated with JKAACL for several decades and served in
the Academy in various capacities from where he retired as Assistant Editor
Kashmiri. He was also associated with other literary organizations of the
Valley including Halqa Adab Hajin, Sonawari and Adbi Markaz Kamraz.
The Academy also held a condolence meeting at its headquarters this
morning in which rich tributes were paid to Ahsan.
