Baramulla,
Sept 30: Life returned to normal after remaining paralysed due to strike
and restrictions since September 27 in apple township of Sopore in this north
Kashmir district. Shops and business establishments reopened this morning and
traffic was also plying normally on all routes as security forces had removed
all road blocks and barbed wire. Longest surviving militant Abdul Qayoum Najar
was killed in an encounter with security forces near Line of Control in Boniyar
Uri sector on September 27 when he returned from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
(PoK). Authorities imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC in the main town
to prevent any demonstration while elsewhere in the Sopore people observed
strike against the killing of Najar. UNI
