Madurai, Sep 19: The Madras High Court Madurai Bench today restrained the Tiruchirapalli City Crime Branch Police from arresting sidelined AIADMK leader T.T.V.Dhinakaran and veteran Tamil actor R.Senthil till October 4 on a complaint filed against them by AIADMK MP P.Kumar. The Tiruchirapalli city crime branch police had filed a case under sections 294 (b) (uttering obscene words in public place), 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) 109 (abetment) and 153 (wanton provocation with intent to cause riot) of the Indian Penal Code against Mr.Dhinakaran and Mr.Senthil, based on a complaint from Mr.Kumar. The AIADMK MP had alleged that the actor had made derogatory remarks against him on at the instigation of Mr.Dhinakaran. Mr.Senthil, a staunch supporter of Mr Dhinakaran allegedly made some offensive remarks against Mr.Kumar, who supports Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswamy during an interaction with media at Chennai on August 31. Justice S.S.Sundar adjourned till October 4 the hearing of the petition filed by the actor seeking court direction to the police not to proceed further with the case and directed the police not to arrest the actor and Mr.Dhinakaran till then.
