Minor migrant girl raped by youth in Punjab

Phagwara, Sept 27: One minor Bihari migrant girl was allegedly raped by a youth in her house near Village Chack-Hakim late Tuesday evening. The victim's parents told the police their four daughters were home while they went to work as labourers. They said as soon as they returned from work late in the evening, their youngest daughter told them that one youth entered in their house by jumping the wall beat them mercilessly with lathi and forcibly sexually assaulted their eldest daughter. Congress Leader Nimisha Mehta brought the victim to civil hospital. The doctor of the Civil Hospital examined the victim and confirmed sexual assault. SHO of city police rushed to civil hospital but still no formal case could be registered till filing of the reports due to jurisdiction dispute among cops. UNI
