SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 06: Renowned singer, musician, music composer, pianist and actor Adnan Sami Khan today interacted with local artists at Hotel Taj Vivanta, ahead of his concert tomorrow to be held at SKICC here.
During the
interaction, Sami shared instances from his music journey and life experiences
with the artists, besides reflecting upon the art and music and their scope in
traversing through space and time.
He said that
‘language of art is a form of communication that transcends all differences
created by humans, and reaches above hate to spread a message of peace and
harmony’.
Speaking about his
experiences of visiting J&K, Sami said this region hosts a rich culture
which has art woven in its roots. ‘The mysticism and Sufism found in Kashmir
will continue to inspire me and influence my music so that I can produce rich
melodies’, he added.
The local artists
spoke at length with Adnan Sami about his music, his melodies, present scenario
of music in the country, the visible shift away from melodies to the
westernized genre and about his upcoming concert in the valley.
The artists also
thanked Adnan Sami for performing at this concert for gratis,
saying that this concert will go a long way in motivating youth in exploring
their passions in arts and moving forward to shaping their passions into
professions.
Marveling at the
plethora of talent present in Kashmir, Sami said that this region has produced
brilliant writers, poets and artists whose works are lauded worldwide and has
inspired many people globally.

Aziz Hajini, prominent local artist including Tariq Javed, Wahid Geelani, Aiyash
Arif, Muneer Ahmad Mir, Zameer Ashaye, Gulzar Ganaie were present for the
interaction.
