Geelani express concern over loss of lives due shelling on LoC

Srinagar, Oct 3: Expressing serious concern over the loss of lives due to unprovoked shelling and firing by India and Pakistan troops on both sides of the border, chairman of hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC) said tension on the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) would continue till the Kashmir issue is resolved.
      In a statement here this evening Mr Geelani said that situation was extremely worrisome and people are living in an atmosphere of uncertainty.
       He alleged that the leadership of BJP and RSS was ignorant about the sensitive nature of Kashmir issue, which can never be resolved by force.
      Mr Geelani called upon both the countries to observe restraint before there is full-fledged war in the sub-continent which could prove devastating and very costly.
       It is wise for both the countries to avoid horrors of war and resolve all issues, including Kashmir amicably by involving all stake holders.
      He said cross-border skirmishes between India and Pakistan forces on the LoC has resulted in massive death and destruction from both sides.
       He said the International community should take serious and effective diplomatic steps for final and lasting solution to Kashmir issue to stop war between two nuclear neighbours. UNI
