SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 9:
A delegation from Homshalibugh lead by former MLA Abdul Gaffar Sofi today
called on Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari to request for
upgradation of education sector in the area.
The delegation
apprised the Minister about the various education related problems faced by the
students. The delegation put forward various demands including upgradation of
education infra for the upliftment of education sector in Homshalibugh
constituency of district Kulgam.
The delegation informed
the Minister that the 32 closely located villages is devoid of having even a
single higher secondary school. The Minster was suggested to upgrade High
School located in the area into Higher Secondary as it can solve the problem to
a great extent.
While informing the
Minister about the shortage of headmasters in few schools in the constituency,
the delegation also demanded for renovation of various schools which were
damaged in 2014 floods. Besides, they also requested for developing of the play
grounds for government schools including Government High School, Hanjir,
Government Middle School, Wadipora and few other schools.
After giving the
patient hearing, the Minister assured that all their genuine demands will be
addressed at an earliest. He gave an on spot direction to fulfill the vacant
posts of headmasters in the area and promised that certain things will be
proposed to cabinet and the decision will be taken accordingly.
Principal Secretary
Higher Education Dr. Asghar Hassan Samoon, Secretary School Education Farooq
Ahmad Shah, and Director School Education Kashmir G N Itoo were present on the
occasion.
