Agartala,
Oct 30: Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha, women's wing of BJP today
condemned the attack on its vice-president Barnali Goswami by policemen during
a CITU-BMS clash at Dharmanagar two days ago. BJP Mahila Morcha alleged that
the policemen led by Rakhal Mitra, OC of Dharmanagar police station had
resorted to lathi charge when the Mahila Morcha leaders reached Dharmanagar
ISBT to intervene into the clash between CITU and BMS supporters. The state
vice president of Mahila Morcha Barnali Goswami was injured in the lathi
charge. Protesting the incident, they staged rallies and burnt effigy of Chief
Minister Manik Sarkar at Agartala and Dharmanagar last evening. Condemning the
incident, state president of Mahila Morcha Papia Datta alleged, “The
Constitutional and Human rights of women leaders were violated in the incident.
The uniformed police personnel favoured the CITU backed goons instead of
playing an impartial role during the violence.” She informed that the matter
