ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 25: The Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik Wednesday chaired a
meeting of the officers to discuss the modus operandi regarding traffic
management in Anantnag town.
The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Anantnag, ARTO, DSP Traffic and
Chief Executive Officer, MC Anantnag.
On the occasion, the DC said that directions have been issued wherein
entry of heavy vehicles into the town will be stopped from 8:00 A.M
to 6:00 P.M. He directed the Traffic Police to ensure the proper implementation of
the order and besides asked them to establish nakkas at Khanabal-Pahalgam Point
and AshajiPora Bridge.
He directed the DSP traffic to ensure smooth flow of traffic through
Mehandi Kadal - Jangalat Mandi tube so that people do not have to face
difficulties.
The DC said that illegal parking on the road sides shall not be
tolerated as it creates mess in the town. The local shopkeepers were also
informed not to encroach upon the pathways and roads and appealed for their
cooperation in vacating these spaces at their own.
He also directed for a joint endeavour of the officers of Traffic,
Transport, Revenue and Municipality to sensitize the shopkeepers and public
regarding the traffic management and parking.
