BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 04: In
connection with the election of Cooperatives Societies to be conducted
tentatively on October 11, 2017 Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today convened a
meeting to finalize the arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development
Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue,
District Audit Officer, representatives of Cooperative Department, and other
functionaries of Election Department.
A managing body shall be elected through the election which shall
comprise various office bearers for proper and smooth functioning of the
cooperative societies.
During the meeting, a thorough discussion regarding the appointment of
Returning and Assistant Returning Officers, preparation of electoral rolls,
establishment of polling staff and other necessary requirements was held.
The DC emphasized upon the concerned to work with added zeal and vigour
so that the election is conducted on the scheduled date smoothly. He also
stressed on cooperation among various Departments involved in the election
process and called for holding the election in a free and transparent manner.
