POONCH, OCTOBER 25: In his
efforts to cover every nook & corner of the district especially far off
regions to redress the grievances of people at their doorsteps, Deputy
Commissioner, Tariq Ahamad Zargar today held a public grievances redressal camp
at Swajian Gagriaan in remote area of tehsil Mandi.
The Camp was attended by Program officer ICDS, General Manager Industry,
CEO Tourism, ASP Poonch, ACD, Executive Engineers of PWD,PHE,PDD, district
Sheep& Animal Husbandry Officer, District Agriculture Officer, District
Social Welfare Officer, AD FCS & CA besides all sectoral & tehsil level
officers and officials were also present.
People from different panchayats including Sawjian, Baidaar, Atoli,
Danugam, Banlai and Chamber Kanari attended the camp.
During the day long interaction, the people of these areas appreciated
the efforts of DC to attend to the unattended and left out areas and also for
providing quality governance at their door steps.
People put forth their grievances & requested the DC to take
necessary steps for their early redressal. Their grievances ranging
from poor telecommunications network, bad shape of roads, installation or
repairing of pipes, scarcity of drinking water, opening of bank branch,
providing solar lights, proper installation of new electric poles &
transformer's to upgrade power infrastructure, renovation of panchyat ghars,
immediate release of MGNERGS payments were brought forth.
The people also informed the DDC that the education system in the area
is at verge of collapsing because of inadequate teaching staff.They also
pleaded for providing doctors & supportive staff & required medicines
in different health institutions of the area besides release of relief
for the families who suffered badly in shape of injuries to human lives , live
stocks & property because of shelling across the LoC.
Other issues including blacktopping of Gali
Maidan to Khait road, early completion of 3km stretch of Rangwad to budha
pathar road connecting Tangmarg of Kashmir valley, opening of examination
center for class X& XII, opening of ration depot at Gali Maidan, inclusion
of deserving souls in BPL category, compensation for land acquired for road
projects, early enrollment under Aadhaar and construction of bunkers were also
raised.
On the
occasion the officers responded to the demands of the people and informed the
camp about the status of ongoing welfare schemes & other developmental
projects being operationalised in the area. The officers also informed about
resources available with them & bottlenecks coming in way of redressing
public issues.
While speaking DC asked the officers to make best use of available
resources by prioritizing the projects according to the wishes of the people.
He assured the people that all issues which were raised will be looked into and
directed the officers to fixed time line for resolving the same.
He also assured them that other issues will be projected to concerned
authorities for early redressal.
