RAJOURI, OCTOBER 23: District
Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, conducted an extensive
inspection of developmental works in Kalakote besides holding a public
grievances redressal camp and review meeting.
The DDC inspected work on Tribal Hostel, Community Hall and Shopping
complex and directed the SDM for handing over tribal hostel and community hall
to Rural Engineering Wing for completion under convergence plan.
Meanwhile, 5 shops constructed under TSP will be handed over to Social
Welfare Department for outsourcing. Departments were directed to complete these
projects in next three months as more than 7-8 years have lapsed beyond the
timeline for completion.
Dr. Shahid also inspected the proposed site for construction of
Government Degree College and asked MD J&K Housing Board for early
construction.
The team of officers also visited bus stand, revenue complex, Aadhar
enrolment centres and other establishments.
SDM Kalakote was directed to fix responsibility of officials of J&K
Minerals Ltd for alleged encroachment and sale of acquired land in Kalakote and
its vicinity.
It was also decided that enrolment camp for migrant voters will be
organised on 6th November 2017 and a mega camp on education awareness will be organised in Moughla by
departments of education and Social Welfare.
Later, the DC convened a review meeting of sectoral officers to assess
the progress on various development works and welfare schemes in Kalakote
constituency.
The DDC expressed concern over poor performance of BDO Kalakote in
completion of schools under project Tameer owing to shortage of cement.
He directed the officers of PDD, PHE, and Mechanical wing for disposal
of all pending public issues within a week’s time.
Meanwhile, two officials namely Jaswant Singh MPW and Kuldeep Sinh
Technical Asstt were placed under suspension for unauthorised absence from
duty.
Officers of Revenue, Agriculture and Horticulture were directed to
submit joint report regarding crop losses for providing relief to affected
farmers.
Earlier, the DDC took stock of public grievances and demands related to
improvement in condition of roads, educational infrastructure, teaching staff
and water supply.

appreciated the initiative of district administration for providing
certificates at doorsteps under PSGA camps.
SDM Dr. Khalid Hussain, CMO Dr Suresh Sharma, ExEn PWD Pervez Ahmed,
ExEn PDD Umesh Parihar, ExEn STD Hussan Mohd, CAO M Y Choudhary, CHO Dr Dil
Bahadur Singh, DSHO Dr Satish Gangwal, DSWO Dr Abdul Khabir, DSEO Rashid Azam
and other serior officers accompanied the DDC.
