UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 30: District Development Commissioner
Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar today convened a meeting to review the progress of
four-lanning of Jakhani-Chenani National Highway and passed instructions for
smooth shifting of utilities on the stretch.
The
meeting was attended by Revenue officers, engineers and representatives of
construction agencies at DC office here.
The meeting discussed various issues related to shifting of utilities of
PHE, PDD and other line departments at Jakhani, shifting of CRPF
Battalion at identified accommodation of JKSPDC at Jakhani, removal
of structures from ROW, vacation of possession of CRPF Camp from acquired land at
village Narsoo and other allied issues, demolition of structures in Narsoo and
Samroli segment, widening and improvement of stretches besides compensation of
affected structures.
The DDC warned the executing agency to adopt preventive measures for
safety of public and private property while executing the works.
Keeping in view traffic congestion from Jakhani to Chenani, the DDC
directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth passage of the traffic by
doing temporary widening of existing National Highway on identified black spots
to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.
Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Project Director NHAI M.T
Attrade, Joint Executive Engineer PHE, Ashok Sharma, Tehsildar Udhampur and
Chenani besides other officers of various departments and representatives of
Construction companies were present in the meeting.
