New
Delhi, Oct 9: Condemning the recently announced hike in the Metro fares,
Delhi Metro Commuters Association today put pickets at around 50 busy metro
stations and distributed pamphlets appealing public to observe 'Boycott Day' on
Tuesday. Terming it 'anti-people', the association members distributed
pamphlets from around 0800 hrs at the stations that witness maximum commuters
across the national capital. Earlier, the DMCA had submitted a memoranda to the
Ministry of Urban Development and Managing Director of DMRC seeking immediate
revocation of the increase since it would adversely affect Delhi’s population,
however, there was no outcome. Various social organisations, trade unions,
people’s groups have also been contacted by DMCA for tomorrow's Boycott Day,
official sources said. UNI
