KARGIL, OCTOBER 25- Minister
for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperatives, Chering Dorjay today visited various places
in Kargil and took stock of undergoing development works and projects in the
area.
On the Occasion, various delegations of the people also met the Minister
and apprised him about various issues faced by them in their respective areas.
The Minister gave patient hearing to the demands of the people and
assured them that all their genuine issues will be addressed at an earliest.
Further, the Minister also gave on spot directions to the concerned officials
to address the issues.
Dorjay said that it is the prime concern of the Government to enhance
the basic facilities to the people of the remote areas.
The Minister also visited Chader road to take first hand appraisal of
the ongoing developmental works. He was informed that the construction work on
66 kilometers of the road from Padam has been completed.
Dorjay directed the concerned officials to speed up the pace of work and
finish the projects under execution in the time bound manner.
On the occasion, the Minister and others officers held a two minute
silence for the workers who lost their lives on September
18 after coming under the falling stones. He also
prayed for eternal peace of departed souls.
The Minister also visited Momotorebel bridge which is being constructed
at the cost of Rs 5.68 crore and took stock of its construction work which is
near its completion stage.
On the occasion, divisional officers, commanding officers group, and
other concerned officials accompanied the Minister.
