EAC-PM identifies 10 priorities for accelerating eco growth, employment in next 6 months

New Delhi, Oct 11: The Economic Advisory Council to PM (EAC-PM) today identified 10 major priorities for accelerating economic growth and employment over the next 6 months. The ten areas includes Economic Growth, employment and job creation, informal sector and integration of informal sector, fiscal framework, monetary policy, Public expenditure and efficiency of public expenditure, institutions of the economic governance, agriculture & animal husbandry. Addressing the media persons after the first meeting of EAC-PM, Bibek Debroy, Chairman, EAC-PM, said that patterns of consumption and production and social sector are among the 10 issues that the Committee will initially work on. He said that the Committee will also take up the monetary policy on priority first and then look for the others. Whenever the Committee will take any view on the policy, it will discuss the same with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the other stakeholders. PM Mr Debroy said, “EAC-PM will work in close coordination with existing Ministries and Departments to provide informed advice to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on macroeconomic issues.” UNI
