Srinagar,
Oct 5: A Gujarat-based edible oil manufacturing company has been fined Rs
50,000 in Srinagar for supplying substandard and misbranded mustard oil, an
official spokesman said here on Thursday. He said the court of Adjudicating
Officer (Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar) imposed a fine of Rs 50,000
on the company for manufacturing/supplying substandard & misbranded, “Suman
Brand Mustard Oil”. Meanwhile, Food Safety Wing of Drugs and Food Control Organization,
Srinagar has filed 16 cases against various Food Business Operators for
manufacture/sale of Food articles in unsanitary conditions. Chicken sellers,
Bakers and Butchers have been directed to maintain high standards of hygiene
otherwise action under relevant provisions of Food Safety & Standards Act
shall be initiated against them. UNI
